10 Best Mobile Apps For Robot Vac

Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency you need to manually vacuum. Find one that has excellent navigation, is able to sweep corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that needs emptying only periodically.

There are also models that mop and charge on their own which can be beneficial for those with pets or kids. A lot of the top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those looking for a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot after it has filled up.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any clutter or toys it may encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes around three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or through the app.

In our testing the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. When connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens and releases clean air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adjusted to the task. It can quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.

This model also has docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as an Wand clip. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its short running time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is an average and not a remarkable time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to get every single area (though a second run-through usually does the trick). This doesn't mean that this model isn't a good choice It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It was able to remove most types of debris in our testing and often went over the same area many times to give an efficient clean.  smart robot  helps it reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice feature.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to move itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name that you see on all sorts of electronic gadgets for your home, so it comes as no surprise that they're also one of the most reputable robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is loaded with cutting-edge onboard intelligence tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app offers a wide range of options to customize your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. It's easy to understand and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested, and this could be a deterrent for some shoppers.

The app lets you access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. This feature allows you check in on your children or pets while you're away. The filter and the dust bin are washable for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps keep the bin clean and maximizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Unlike other robotic vacuums, which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They have an extra wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This lets them clean the area for longer. They also have two side sweepers that can be used to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which senses whether it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that allows users to see an interactive map, control functions, and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and connect it to the dock for charging at the press of a single button. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to determine where it is focused or if it's stuck.

The app also makes it easy to steer the robot manually should you need to. My living room rug, for example, has a darkly-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. The HRV 425BL however, continued to move across the border, without notifying the high point. And the ability to create the weekly cleaning schedule is a great time-saving convenience.
